Four major Taiwan driver IC manufacturers DenMOS Technology Inc., Himax Technologies Inc., Novatek Microelectronics Corp. and Winbond Electronics -- posted 15 percent sequential growth in shipment for the last quarter of 2004. Due to seasonal increase in demand for PCs, the four manufacturers had a total of 114.5 million driver ICs shipped last quarter, most of which were used in large-size LCD panels.
Novatek took the top spot in shipments with 63 million units while Himax shipped 57 million units last quarter. DenMOS and Winbond registered shipments to 18 million units and 6.5 million units last quarter, respectively. |
